Editorial Letter and Edited Manuscript: A Quick Update

I’m ecstatic! This afternoon I received the editorial letter along with the edited manuscript for my short story. I have to admit I was frightened to read the editor’s feedback at first. I always fear the feedback because editors could be harsh; and even though I am fully aware harsh feedback is a possibility, I still am apprehensive. Nonetheless, I gained the courage and opened up the file – a couple of hours after receipt.

The editor was very pleased with my work. She provided positive insights along with several revisions and suggestions; but nothing I cannot handle. I did not review point by point the edited manuscript since there is so much to review. I need to have a few free days to focus solely on the revisions. But, based on what I was able to capture, I am highly content with the editor’s information. Editors are brilliant.

This weekend I hope to hide at home and work diligently on the edited manuscript. I do not want to rush with the revisions; I want to take my time. Working slowly and carefully will result in a favorable product. As soon as I complete the editing, I will provide a detail post on what exactly my editing manuscript entailed.

Ladies and gentlemen, I’m getting closer to the finish line!! :)
